Ducks

Duck Eggs

$8 a dozen for eating
$40 a dozen for hatching

Limited quantities, please let us know a few days in advance of when you want to pick up so we can have some available for you!

These duck eggs are from our small flock of organically fed Khaki Campbell ducks.

Some of our ducks are not fully mature yet so their eggs are about the size as chicken eggs.

Normally duck eggs are about 1 1/2 times the size of chicken eggs.

Hatching eggs will start to be available March 1st.

$40 a dozen, that is about $4 a duckling!

A dozen straight run Khaki Campbell ducklings at McMurry hatchery would be $148.20, or $12.35 a duckling.

You can save about $100 by hatching your own eggs!

Hatchery prices have skyrocketed but if you have an incubator, you can avoid those prices and still have the ducks you want.

Our hatching eggs cost more than our eating eggs, and you might think "aren't they the same?" but when we sell someone hatching eggs, we will pick out the best shaped and sized ones (they hatch the best) and take extra care that the eggs stay clean after they are laid because you can't wash hatching eggs off.

If eggs that someone is going to eat get dirty, we can just wash them off, but we can't do that with hatching eggs.

Ducks can be housed with chickens, and they will learn to go into a coop at night, however, you will want to provide your chickens with a clean source of water that us raised up on something out of the ducks reach since ducks get their water very dirty.

Khaki Campbells can lay up to 300 eggs a year! That is better than almost all breeds of chicken!

Our ducks have also been laying quite well throughout the winter. In our experience ducks lay much better than chickens.
